Copyright law in the United States extends 70 years beyond the death of the creator.  That’s not to protect the artist who created the work.  The law was written for the purpose of generating revenue to the corporation that published the work.

The original purpose of copyright was to give writers/artists income for a limited period (such as 20 years) before releasing the work into the public good.

This is another example of pure, corporate greed which is sabotaging our culture.
